Job Title:     Parts Counter Salesperson

Department:   Service Department

Location:     Goroka, Lae and Port Moresby  

Reports to:     Workshop/Service Manager

General Purpose

Parts Interpreter position is responsible for maintaining all records for Boroko Motors and external customers vehicles that are scheduled for services and repairs. All aspects of parts inventory, and stock control. Working collaboratively with the workshop staff, supervisors and suppliers to ensure stock is available in a timely manner. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this role is an important position within the Boroko Motors team. The Parts Interpreter is relied upon to provide an efficient and supportive role and will require autonomy and flexibility in the approach to work.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Interpret parts required for service, repairs for workshop technicians (Includes apprentices and body section) at the counter and over the phone.

  • Manage the parts inventory and ensure that high turnover parts are kept to a minimum or ordered as required.

  • First point on contact for the company with suppliers. Understand how to source and secure parts at competitive prices, efficiently.

  • Enter all daily parts activity in the system with accuracy. Ensure all sales, back orders, forward orders, stock transfers, credit notes and general distribution is followed up in a timely manner.

  • Manage the company’s rolling stock takes and comply the company stock security procedures.

  • Ensure the parts store is tidy, and all parts are allocated in the appropriate bins and on the appropriate shelves with original parts numbers.

  • Consult Workshop Manager and pick stock for the following days parts requirements.

  • Ensure you are up to date with new product and product changes as well as improvements and additions.

  •  Ensure purchase orders are raised for all stock orders and attached to relevant invoices. Approve all invoices associated with parts daily and in a timely manner. Liaises with administrative staff as required in regard to invoice payments and credits.
