Position:           Vehicle Sales Consultant

Department:                Vehicle Sales

Reports To:     Sales manager, Dealer Principal & General Manager, Sales & Marketing manager  

Location:        Lae, China Town and Madang

General Purpose

  • To Sell Automotive vehicles & accessories while retaining Company Gross profit objectives 

  • Assist in meeting Company automotive vehicle, accessory sales - volume objectives 

  • Deliver a service experience that is professional, meets or exceeds customers’ expectations inclusive of C>S>I / KPI

  • Build a positive client base for repeat business

  • Establish, maintain positive client & internal company relationships


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge, Practice company policy & procedures

  • Attend daily sales meetings contributing current self-activity, progress status

  • Meet & greet customer’s (Phone, email, walk-in, appointments) in a timely professional manner

  • Undertake to learn product knowledge- features, benefits

  • Maintain a customer data base inclusive of key accounts

  • Undertake regular prospecting practices

  • Maintain road to a sale objective

  • Adhere to company documentation flow processes

  • Follow Company vehicle delivery practice

  • Involve Dept manager in all aspects of pricing, stock availability

  • Meet Dept deadlines

  • Maintain dept reporting strategy

  • Assist with maintaining presentation of showroom, showroom vehicles

  • Assist with maintaining brochure availability

Education and Training

  • Minimum 3 years secondary education or above

  • Vehicle Sales training programs – various- certified 

  • Business Management study / courses

  • Vehicle sales inventory control training course

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven - previous experience in same or similar role – Multi Franchise or single franchise

  • Achievement from previous experience

  • Advancement through Boroko Motors from similar area or succession planning

Core Competencies

  • Highly presentable, reliable, Self-Motivated, Proactive, communication skills, focus on listening, explanation, demonstration with tidy work habits

  • Confident Computer competencies

  • Automotive selling skills, fleet sales with key account management ability

  • Understanding / Knowledge of Vehicle sales process

  • Ability to plan, organize with attention to detail – time management skills

  • Ability to demonstrate “Best Practice Methods

  • Ability to be proactive with problem solving skills

  • maintain reporting structure within all depts as well as from Dealer principal to General Manager / senior management

  • Ability to determine & recognize when assistance is required & ask for it

Working Conditions

  • Safe, tidy & clean working environment that meets industry standards

  • Working Hours - Monday to Friday 8.00am – to 5.00pm, Saturday Mornings 8.00am – to 12.00pm, Other hours - as required or directed by Senior Management, Sales Events and Sponsorship events

  • Busy Multi franchise environment encompassing New & Used vehicle sales – Trucks, light commercial, Passenger vehicles, Industrial & Agriculture Replacement parts, Tyres & batteries, Panel, Fabrication & Paint Department with Honda Power products
