Job Title: Payroll Officer

General Purpose
Payroll Officer will administer our employee compensation. Payroll Officer’s responsibilities include calculating employees’ salaries, over time, leave, bonus, commissions and processing on payroll, accordingly updating NASFUND, TAX, NCSL and any other deductions and ensuring all employees are paid correcting with zero errors on the date agreed for each PPE. The role is highly confidential and such the person is entrusted to keep all information strictly confidential and must be familiar with Government/Labour legislations on Tax, NASFUND and Leave.
Responsibilities

Collect daily, weekly or monthly timesheets in preparation for PPEs

Using leave liability report verify and validate all leave forms & process accordingly on payroll

Verify and validate Court loan forms using the Eligibility Criteria inclining Courts Hire Purchase (HP)

Assess all new starter forms to ensure NAFUND, Tax, Employee Detail and Bank Accounts have been correctly entered for payroll processing and filing

Process payroll and pay accordingly using Online or Kundu Pei

Close payroll, issue pay slips and update all reports for payment /record -NASFUND, NCSL, TAX, Courts Loan/HP, Salary Sacrifice, Internal deductions to the company for various payments

Ensure all NASFUND, NCSL and Tax payments are up to date and all employees accounts are update to date with the NASFUND and NCSL payment

Prepare Journals and Month end tax – any other payroll related reports

Respond to provide all Audit requests

Run leave liability reports and provide to all HODs/General Managers monthly

Update all employees’ personal files using the filing checklist

Standing and cover for other Payroll Officers on leave or not available during the PPE

Must master the use of TAMS and Attaché

Provide month end Headcount Reports

Attend to NASFUND/NCSL applications including loan and membership withdrawals

Attend to all former employees’ queries with NASFUND withdrawal or transfer

Attend to all Payroll queries including letters for banks loans & new bank account

Attend to all other HR/Payroll request as and when delegated by Manager
Requirements

Certificate/Diploma in Business Studies/Accounting/Human Recourse

Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in Payroll with the use of Attaché or similar system processing all cycle of payroll

Must be familiar with Government and DLIR legislation on Leave, NASFUND, Tax, OT, Final payment & Long Service Leave

Proficiency in Microsoft suite products at the expert level in Excel
