Job Job Title:           Parts Support Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE:


The purpose of the Parts Support Coordinator is to assist the branch staff, internal and other customers to purchase parts and accessories appropriate to their needs; assist with the technical interpretation of parts required by branches and provide information such as availability to source and supply parts appropriate to their needs.

RELATIONSHIPS:


Reports to: National Parts Manager
Staff Responsibility: N/A
Key Relationships: Head Office Parts staff, Branch Dealer Principals, Parts and Service Managers, and all other Boroko Motors staff when and where required

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

 

  • To handle incoming branch phone and email enquiries, assist branch staff with correct parts interpretation, check parts availability and lead times on suppliers.

  • Assist the branch network in parts sourcing and correct interpretation 

  • Keep branches and internal customers informed re the progress of their enquiries and orders

  • Report and inform the National Parts Manager of any complex issues they should be aware of

  • Liaise with manufacturers for availability and lead times and any other issues

  • Actively provision and add parts to file as required to support the parts business objectives

  • Maintain part numbers, supersessions, product groups and product categories on the system.

  • Assist to prepare monthly parts performance reports, back-order reports, inventory performance reports, actively provision and add parts to file as required.

  • Assist to develop and implement programs and reference material to assist branches with correct parts and accessory interpretation.

  • Preform other duties as required

KEY SKILLS AND TECHNICAL COMPETNECIES:

 

  •  Previous experience as a parts interpreter with in depth knowledge of automotive mechanical parts.

  • A strong customer service focus and an excellent phone manner

  • Previous experience as a parts interpreter manufacturers EPC

  • A good understanding of automotive parts cataloguing and experience with using

  • Experience with an industry recognised DMS.

  • Basic to intermediate computer literacy and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly

  • A highly analytical and creative approach to problem solving minimal supervision, when needed

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team but also able to work autonomously with

  • Mechanically minded

     Minimum Experience & Qualifications:


     (a) Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in the transport, automotive or similar industry
     (b) In depth automotive mechanical background
     (c) Experience with EPC
     (d) Experience with ERP systems or equivalent
     (e) Qualified as a parts interpreter
