Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer

Company: Coconut Products

Department: Quality Control

Reports to: Mill Operations Manager

Primary objective of the job:

This position is responsible for guaranteeing the quality of products meet established standards by ensuring
careful inspections and the enforcement of quality standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

        1. Testing & Control

  • Monitor to ensure compliance of quality standards are maintained

  • Testing oil samples for FFA/Color

  • Test total residual oil in cake (meal)

  • Test Moisture for cake (meal)

  • Discuss ways to improve production quality through control measures

  • Mini-extraction of random copra to establish oil ratio to estimate oil tonnage


        2. Mill Production Update

  • Update all production detail and quality.

  • Calculate total metric tonne in storage shore tanks

  • Calculate daily production total metric tonne in storage shore tanks

  • Provide the following reports;

  • Daily Production Reports

  • Quality Production Report

  • Machinery Breakdown/Maintenance report

  • Machinery Performance Reports- loads, temperature

  • Handle good housekeeping and safety of quality control office;


        3. Loading (CCNO) Ensure hygiene and avoid risk of non-conformities.

  • Clean loading area

  • Inspect containers & Flexitank for damage or hazards (nails, rust, pest, contaminants).

  • Dress containers

  • Load containers

  • Record and calculate flowmeter readings.

  • Provide updates on stock loaded out and the current stock.

  • Provide and pack samples for export upon request.


         4. Others

  • Do monthly inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment and maintain par stock level.

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Technology or Chemistry

  • With 1 to 2 years work experience

  • Experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing.

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.
