Job Title:  Product Support Officer

General Purpose

Providing support and assistance in the process of import clearance activities.

Involves collaborating with Shipping Line & Government Agencies to ensure smooth customs clearance and compliance with import regulations.

 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing import documentation, such as invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.

  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to ensure timely and accurate submission of import documents.

  • Monitor import shipments and track their progress to ensure compliance with delivery schedules.

  • Communicate and coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and transportation providers to resolve any issues or delays in the import clearance process.

  • Provide administrative support in maintaining import records, including filing and organizing relevant documentation.

  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate payment of import duties, taxes, and other related charges.

  • Assist in conducting regular audits to ensure adherence to import compliance policies and identify areas for improvement.

 

 

Education, Training, Knowledge and Experience

  • Diploma / Certificate in Business and/or respective field

  • 3+ Years Prior experience in import clearance or logistics operations is an advantage

  • Knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data.

  • Coordination skills to interact with internal teams, suppliers, and customs authorities.

  • Proficiency in using relevant software applications for documentation and tracking purposes.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced import environment.

  • Problem-solving skills to address any issues or delays in the clearance process.

  • Familiarity with trade terms, Incoterms, and international shipping practices.

Working Conditions

  1. Working 8am – 5pm weekdays, Monday to Friday

  2. Alternative weekend 8am – 12md Saturday

  3. Flexible shifts/ on call.
