Current Operations

We have full branch operations located in Port Moresby, Lae and Mt Hagen with authorised dealers at Madang, Rabaul (Kokopo) and Kimbe. We have a branch at Tabubil, called Tabubil Automotive . This is a Joint Venture with a local land-owner group, with our primary customer being Ok Tedi Mining Limited. At Lae, we have an additional business callled Highway Automotive. Boroko Motors are the franchise agents for Budget Car and Truck Rental for Papua New Guinea.

Boroko Motors Head Office

Boroko Motors Limited Head Office is located within the branch facility on Cameron Road in Waigani, a surburb of the national's capital, Port Moresby and is staffed by twenty national staff and seven expatriates.

Port Moresby

Port Moresby Branch in the Nation's Capital District, is our largest operation and employs one hundred and seventy national staff and six expatriate staff. Our premises are situated near the National Government offices, a large industrial area and have exposure to two of Port Moresby's main roads. It is the perfect site for the display of new and used motor vehicles offering easy parking for clients and easy access for pedestrians. To complement the sales effort we operate an efficient workshop facility, tyre division, spare parts both new and second hand and a productive panel shop.

Lae

Lae in the Morobe Province serves as a hub for our operations in the northern half of the country. Boroko Motors is situated in the heart of the industrial area of Milfordhaven Rd, a very busy road leading to the wharf area. We employ one hundred and twenty national staff and five expatriates. In 2003 we opened a new workshop facility. This new state of the art facility is located at the branch and complies with all workshop standards. In addition we offer spare parts and tyre services with Lae being our largest outlet for tyres in the country.

Mt Hagen

Mt Hagen is the centre for the largest population group within the country and is the commercial hub for the large Porgera Gold mine and Gobe Oil fields. There is a vast coffee and tea producing area surrounding the town. Carpenter Estates operates the largest tea and coffee plantations in the Highlands. We have re-established our own branch there, opening in September 2004. We have an excellent facility, with a workshop, panel shop, spare parts and a tyre department. We have a National Sales and Administration Manager, an expatriate Fixed Operations Manager and 47 National staff.

Madang

Madang, in the province of the same name, has a relatively small population and provides services to the agricultural sector through coconut and cocoa plantations with a small amount of coffee. Being a coastal town, it is also the base for some fishing fleets harvesting skipjack and yellow fin tuna and a fish-canning factory. Plans for the development of a major Nickel mine some 120 kilometers from Madang are well in hand with feasibilities, market studies and environmental plans already completed. Our Agent Coastal Automotive has been established for 30 years and has the best-equipped service department in the Province.

Rabaul

Rabaul in East New Britian Province is dominated by an active volcano, which last erupted in 1994 covering the majority of the buildings in the town with volcanic ash resulting in the relocation of the administration and commercial centre to a new location at Kokopo.

Gazelle Motors Ltd has been established for over 35 years and operates a modern service and parts facility. This new complex is located in a new development area is operated by David Seeto and his family who are supported by some 30 national staff.

Boroko Motors runs a new car sales office and vehicle display at Gazelle Motors. We have a regional sales manager based there who looks after the islands region.

Kimbe

Kimbe Kar Sales are our authorised dealers for the West New Britian province. Kimbe is the centre for Oil Palm within PNG and has a very buoyant economy as a result. Kimbe Kar Sales are part of Kimbe Bay Shipping who operates many successful businesses including Kimbe Hardware and Kimbe Transport to name just a few. They are well equipped as Motor dealers and sell farm equipment as well as Automotive.

Highway Automotive-Lae

Highway Automotive is situated on Air Corps road, in the same area as Boroko Motors. Highway Automotive specialises in Kenworth truck parts, as well as large range of non-geniune components for the transport industry. In addition we distribute automotive paint and are the PNG distributors for Valvoline oil. The Highway Automotive facility is a new, purpose built parts outlet. We have an expatriate manager and 15 national staff. Budget Rent-a-Car is also located in the same facility.
